Red Packet Media is a Hong Kong based multi-media production and events company producing and providing production services, as well as creating content from Film, Video Content, Social Media, Web Content, and Events. Our first major project for 2025 is the organization of the AOTEAROA INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL, promoting New Zealand Cinema, Actors and Filmmakers in the Hong Kong and Asian market.
Film Festivals
We are the organizers for AIFFHK2025, the inaugural Aotearoa International Film Festival which will take place in Hong Kong and bring together two cultures through the art of cinema, with an exciting 3-Day event in 2025, which we hope to expand to other countries throughout South East Asia. (Aotearoa is the Māori-language name for New Zealand).
Content Creation
Our creative team brings extensive experience in Social Media and Web Content Creation. We create and produce content of all forms and scale, from Social Media Posts, Graphic Designs, Copywriting through Corporate Videos and beyond.
Media Production
The Red Packet Media Core Team, brings more than 60 years combined experience in Feature Film, TV, Sports, Radio, Documentary, Social Media Marketing and Film Production. We have established working relationships with a large crew of talented Film Industry Professionals, who bring their own expertise in everything from Camera and Sound, Editing, Stunt-Coordination, Costuming, Hair and Make Up and more.
We take our name from a very familiar aspect of local culture, Red packets, more commonly known as Hong Bao (in Mandarin) or Lai See (in Cantonese), are gifts presented at social and family gatherings such as weddings or holidays such as Chinese New Year. The red color of the envelope symbolizes good luck and is a symbol to ward off evil spirits.
Organizer of Aotearoa IFF (AIFFHK2025)
Red Packet Media organizes and produces the AOTEAROA INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL, which will be hosted in Hong Kong in 2025 during an exciting 3-day event on March 10th,12th,and 14th. Aotearoa stands for New Zealand in Māori language. AIFFHK2025 will be the first of its kind bringing together these two cultures through cinema and filmmaking. Hong Kongers and New Zealanders share a common passion for movies. Since the famed Lord Of The Rings trilogy showcased the epic landscape of New Zealand as amazing film locations, and has been used for as a Filming Location for Hong Kong movies dating back to the mid 80’s with Sam Hui & Karl Maka’s Aces Go Places 4 and Corey Yuen’s Above the Law/Righting Wrongs through Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon: Sword of Destiny, Mulan and more recently the live action video game adaptation of Dynasty Warriors.

Film & Video Production
The Red Packet Media team Semiquaver Iafeta, Philippe Joly and Mike Leeder, have spent decades working in the movie industry in Hong Kong and Mainland China as actors playing in action films and TV series, some of which have been huge blockbusters in cinema and in streaming, as well as behind the Camera, Casting, Producing and providing Consultation services for both Local and International Projects. In recent years, they have evolved into writing and directing short films, documentaries and developing their own projects as Red Packet Media moves forward.
The Team
Red Packet Media was founded by a team of film professionals in Hong Kong, who between them share a combined experience of over 60 years in the industry (feature films, blockbusters, independent films, short films, TV series, sports, documentary and film production, screenwriting and more...).
Semiquaver "Semi" Iafeta (co-founder)
Semi is a former international rugby player and Presenter/producer of Rugby Asia Channel on Setanta Sports, with a reach of 52M households across 16+ Asian countries. Semi, then turned his talents to acting, and began playing roles in various projects for Film and TV including Unbeatable, Helios, Flying Tiger, Big Brother, Abduction, Raging Fire and Blazing Havoc, as well in Hollywood films shooting in Hong Kong such as Ghost in the Shell with Scarlett Johansson, and The Modelizer starring Byron Mann and Julia Nickson. Semi also recently Produced and Directed a Martial Arts reality series, and serves as the Festival Director for the Aotearoa International Film Festival.
Philippe Joly 狼森 (co-founder)
Philippe is an actor who frequently plays the villain in action Films & TV shows in Hong Kong and Mainland China, where he is known by the Chinese name Langsen 狼森 (literally Wolf Forest). He has shared the screen with some of the biggest names in Asian cinema in a long list of feature films and popular TV series including Dragon Blade with Jackie Chan, Andy Lau in Chasing the Dragon, Abduction with Scott Adkins and Andy On, as well as TV series such as Flying Tiger, and International projects including Pound of Flesh with Jean-Claude Van Damme. Philippe is also a filmmaker, who regularly writes and directs short films and indie projects. Aside from his movie career, he has an active business life as a technology entrepreneur, alumni of the Hong Kong Science & Technology Park (HKSTP), and he is known within the startup community for his various startups and tech ventures.
Mike Leeder a.k.a "Big Mike" (co-founder)
Mike has quite the varied resume, but in a nutshell he is a Casting Director, and Producer, based in Hong Kong since 1990. He has worked in Asia and Internationally on such projects as Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, Jet Li’s Fearless, Jackie Chan’s Rush Hour 3, CZ 12 and Kung Fu Yoga, the IP MAN franchise, Chasing the Dragon, Big Brother and Raging Fire with Donnie Yen, Keanu Reeves Man of Tai Chi, RZA’s Man with the Iron Fists saga, Gareth Evan’s The Raid: Redemption and Havoc starring Tom Hardy, the star studded Triple Threat, Yuen Woo-ping’s True Legend, Baz Luhrman’s Australia, The Expendables 4, Ivan Sen’s Loveland and Goldstone, and much more, including various TV projects for the BBC, HBOAsia, Netflix, Channel Four, Discovery Channel, National Geographic and CCTV. A lifelong love for Hong Kong and International Cult Cinema brought him to Hong Kong, and he’s an acknowledged expert on Genre films having written and edited various magazines on the subject and has recorded over 150 commentaries for Blueray releases of Asian and International Cult Cinema.
